Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) has inscribed their name in IPL history by overcoming Gujarat Titans (GT) by five wickets in an exhilarating IPL 2026 Final held at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad. This triumph marked RCB’s second consecutive IPL championship, making them only the third franchise to successfully defend an IPL title.
In pursuit of Gujarat’s formidable total, RCB was expertly guided by captain Rajat Patidar and star batsman Virat Kohli. Kohli delivered an unbeaten match-winning performance, featuring the fastest IPL fifty of his career, leading Bengaluru to victory with poise and assurance.
Previously, Gujarat Titans put up a strong fight after an impressive season under the leadership of Shubman Gill. Despite benefiting from home conditions and entering the final as one of the tournament’s most reliable teams, GT fell short at the final hurdle, finishing as runners-up.

The final was characterized by heartfelt celebrations as RCB players and supporters reveled in yet another championship victory. Kohli’s experience and resolve once again proved crucial on the grandest stage, enabling Bengaluru to sustain their dominance in the tournament.
The 2026 season also highlighted the emergence of teenage prodigy Vaibhav Sooryavanshi, who clinched the Orange Cap with 776 runs and was recognized as the Most Valuable Player of the tournament. His remarkable performances became one of the season’s standout features.
With another trophy added to their collection, RCB has firmly positioned themselves as one of the most formidable teams in the IPL, while Gujarat Titans will aim to return even stronger in the upcoming season.
